...birthday bash...

...happy birthday uncle loon and eg...

...we had a surprise, well not so surprise birthday celebration for our two uncles. first i called eg to loons table for a discussion (pretending, but quite real). then werntien will come in from the main entrance of sw room and switch off all the lights; which yea, we made uncle loon jumped like, what happened suddenly. and peiying came in with the yoghurt cheesecake (delicious and yummy) and we all sang a birthday song to both our uncles. and we have our traditional two-tables luncheon @ garden. have a wonderful birthday guys...

...of gyms and joggin...

...had a great jogging and gym for the entire week. feels great after a sweaty jog and gym with the most successful team. felt slimmer and healthier now. added to the hefty investment, i think my blood pressure should be reducing soon, but hopefully it will not boil up again with student icno dropdown combo box issue.

so far we have been consistently jogging - with loon, werntien and calvin. just that sometimes rain kept falling that that deters us from the outdoor activity. of course the gym is indoor and there is where we headed for when the sky starts crying. but let me get my 32inch figure first. wakakaz...

...i.l.m.i....

...remember the i.l.m.i encounter few months ago i had. well, i was called to the meeting again in pd and i was being questioned about how wrong the system we have built for them and that how come i am so darn stupid for not understanding their processes and i was being accused of not understanding their processes thus building a wrong system for them. i was so close to explode infront of all the green jacket ass-holes. fearing i would be shot and thats the end of me, i counted to 10 and hush myself. i have had it with these bunch of living being which i would label them as darn pathetically stupid idiots and i told my snr manager to remove me from this project. he did but in return i have to take in another project which is equivalently pathetic. oh well, life goes on...

...arghh...

...scenario 1 : there is this search screen where it requires searching for the centres and then filter out those students who are registered with the centres. the screen comes with a dropdown combo that populates with the centres and then populates the student dropdown combo with the students ic no. i ask him, how many centres do you think there are? he paused a moment and said abt 1800+. doh and how am i going to search thru it? and each centres may have hundreds or thousands of student ic no. how do i search thru the dropdown combo to find my student. and the answer to me was, then if you say cannot, what other way you can do it and he added that the only other way he can think of is using listbox for the student ic no...
...scenario 2 : 2weeks ago i asked this guy to deploy to qa team to do testing and also inform qa directly that you have done deployment and it is ready for testing. and then update the its and send the bugged issues to qa team to test. he said ok. he will do it. 1week ago i asked him the same question and he said already done. 2 days ago i asked him the same question and he said done. yesterday i ask the same question again and he told me that he already checked in the codes. i said to him that my question was have you deployed to qa team to do testing. he said he only checked in the codes. and i ask, so? you have not deployed for qa team to do testing? he said no. and i ask why did you say yes to me 2weeks ago. and his answer to me was, i didnt know that i have to deploy because he thought by checking in the codes, qa team would be able to do testing already...
and i am darn tied up with rewriting the entire as_is documents again which i slept at 4am in the morning...

...strawberries...

...branding is very important, and could be used to our advantage is used wisely both in corporate world and in our personal life. everything we do, whether through clothes we choose to wear, action or even style of writing creates an impression to the people around us, and that in turn creates a significant perception about us. in other words, this is something like the sort of image we want to project about ourselves/organisation.

branding in the corporate world is always something done with purpose, even though we are not conscious about it. for example, someone who talks quickly all the time gives the impression that he/she is either impatient, or highly energetic. imagine if someone from finance field dressing casual or sloppily for work, high chance would be that he / she would not be taken seriously by his peers or superiors. hence to create the correct branding, he / she should conform to the corporate attire for work.

as such, all of us should put some thoughts about “how do we want to brand ourselves?” if you could choose a car which best represent your style and personality, which car would it be? would it be a bmw classy, sporty and on the move kind of car; or a volvo secure and matured?

the good news is that we can choose to brand ourselves in any way that we pleases us, and in most cases people who are successful branded themselves to be successful from the very start. so what are you waiting for, branding yourselves right and you’ll be on the right path to realizing it...(alex.tan)

...runaway...

...our jogging kakis (loon, werntien, calvin and me) are getting serious. and today i managed to jog one full round without stopping. for the past weeks, i only managed half a round without stopping. pure 1.5km of non-stop jogging; phew a great deal of achievement. of course added on to that was my investment in two pieces of rubber that protects my feet which we call them shoes that costs almost rm280 with discount! bought the pair of rubbers with werntien and calvin at 1U where we went shopping, rounding, chatting until almost 3pm. wakakaz, the tms team : the most successful guys hanging out in 1U shopping for running shoes. imagine if my snr manager finds out!
of course werntien managed a 4-round non stop; last round having me on bicycle accompanying him. he enrolled in the shahalam marathon in sept. and he is training hard; aiming for rm1k. his determination is great and his passion is growing too; added to it is his investment of almost the same price!
3 times a week. heck, its a great time to run away from work and release tension for a moment...

...kat.see.good.timing...

...dear all, our iitc feng shui sifu has encouraged us to shift our seating position to re-allign ourselves to the right fengshui. getting the right feng shui is important for many reasons. so guys and girls, today at 4:30pm is the kat see (good timing). please approach our feng shui messenger (xxxx) or me to check the new improved seating position...
and everyone believed it. diverted their attention from the dreading change place restructuring thingy to something soothing and more believable. and of course, i cleaned my table as well...

...cameron.highands...

...i had a weekend getaway to cameron highlands. i had to drive there: sucks. yea, sure i can. but little did we know that the road or rather the path to the place we are going to stay - mns : malaysia nature society, far inside the boh plantation. gosh the little path, winding and just a feet away from the huge drop down to where we dare not check out. there were 6 cars, slowly making our way thru the winding path with alex's vios leading the way. half way thru the manificent ordeal, we saw a kia on the other side coming. obviously there were 6 of us and 1 of them. they have to reverse their car and make way for us. at nite we cant leave the place as it was too dark to come back as the road, ok the path is too dangerous. imagine 30minutes of slow drive along that pathetic path. headache!!!
at nite, after our sumptuos dinner prepared by the caretaker, sharing our meal with a group of students some which are not local, everyone had a great time playing charade, blanket game, catch me if you can. fred enjoying sipping his green tea and reading a book and me was so tired, the nite before arrived home at 1am after many hours of mental sparring with werntien. so as i was asleep in the hall, i could hear shoutings, laughter, screaming just beside me. doh, and i managed to sleep well, waking up from time to time to check them out. and what i remembered was that kelly couldnt draw, someone called fred as raaa...fred, kns could draw well, jilong suprise look when everyone shouted his name in the blanket game and elsf funny face was shocked by fred appearance.
next morning woke up at 630am. woke kengyan and fred up to go watch sunrise. it was freezing cold. wind blowing and cold air. cold air. sunrise not so nice. too many clouds. but enjoyed the walk. later went trekking up to the boh plantation. the view - magnificent. wow. though i complaint all the way there, driving thru the small pathetic path, but tht beats everything. the view simply magnificent.
later went shopping, buy stuff. bought strawberries - promised werntien and yumeng i will bring them strawberries. and drove home after that. tiring. but nice. wonderful time spent with fellow incovarians.
we inspire through tea...

...never give up...

...the week has been filled with healthy lifestlyes vs disturbing facts of lifes. i finally took up the courage to go jogging with my colleagues. why was it a courageous? i have been diagnosed with some physical misfortune for like eternal and to jog for a mere 1.5km around iitc office is a big thing for me. i was very reluctant to run. very scared of not being able to catch up. afraid of being carried back to the office half way thru. however blocked my mind is, i made it. mon.wed.fri.
werntien told me its all in the mind. look out for your goals infront and go for it. its your mental energy. loon kept slowing down when he saw me stop and walk and gave me the assurance that its almost there. just a little bit more to go. both of them were jogging very slowly. what matters most is that they were "beside" me when we jog, not ahead of me. the constant encouragement from both of these friends made my mental energy stronger and that i shall not give up. they taught me never to give up. strive on.
the whole jogging ordeal was not about reaching the destination, but the whole jogging experience itself. the beauty of the surroundings, the ecstatic sunset, the constant encouragement is what makes it so beautiful. i will continue to jog; every monday, wednesday and friday - as per our plan unless something else comes out. i will continue to strive on. and i will never give up. i made it half of the jog without stopping and soon i will aim for the full round.
but i guess the healthy lifestyles beats all the disturbing moments for now. thanks guys for pulling me in...
