...jack daniels...
…its was a close tie. both impressed the audience well with a funny white inside; yellow outside banana story and the touching story of the former newscaster’s clouds with silver lining. and both of them are true winners. yes, my two son won the 22nd effective speaking course. nothing makes me prouder to see both of them emerging champions; tied in the top position with equal number of votes.
jack daniel. this bottle of whiskey never fail to surprise me with their last minute rehearsals, last minute touching up of story line and last minute practices. their heart attack timing was indeed heart wrecking.
jack was with me in starbucks for almost 3 hours to go through his contents and off we go to mcdonalds for another 2 hours of rehearsals. and that was the day before the finals. i didn’t get to sit down with daniel with his speech because he was having exams the whole week. daniel has his final rehearsal with me the hour before the contest starts. and jack has his final rehearsal with me right infront of the toilet of bgf moments before he was due on stage. my goodness. i am getting a heart attack.
jack has a problem with remembering his speech. his pressure was high because he was the one “chosen” to win. He also have his emceeing to do – which adds more pressure to him. daniel has a big challenge of remembering the bombastically structured sentences and super hard to pronounce words. he also has a slight issue on how to position his hands. wakakakz. during their private rehearsal with me, they fared extremely awful. oh my gawd!
but they did extremely well. they lived up to their expectations of under promise over deliver. something they learnt from someone; definitely not me. (according to both of them – they can only speak well infront of a live audiences ; the more people the better). their speeches were excellent. daniel has bought a super huge banana; measuring over 8 inches in circumference and just over a foot long made him the winner of the overall exhibit used. everyone was impressed with his farnee presentation and superbly amusing banana. jack on the other hand touched the crowd with his motivational story of a former newscaster now wheelchair bound and how she found back her spirit and determination to lived on; to see the silver lining in the clouds.
both jack and daniel has shown us that if we put our minds into it and focus our energy on it, whatever problems there is, we are sure to be able to see the opportunities in it. they have done well with the metzteam and coming out with the first incovar trailer. they have conquered the effective speaking course. they are conquering the youth exchange program next week. whats next for them? 3 individuals of such diverse background synergyzing their effort; worked as a team and striving forward; now they are ready. ready to conquer the world.
congratulations again to both of you…
