...sampat day...
...its sampat. world women’s day. its happy birthday derrick!
chauffeured jack daniels to esc in the afternoon and spent half of my sampat day with them in the class. the class was ok. sample speakers were awfully chosen. and we call them sample speakers! more like sample of speakers you would not want to follow. wonder why they were called in to give sample speech. i think esc can do better than that. some of the evaluators are like duh. don’t ask me more.
later in the evening, we went down to mamak at nikko hotel’s corner lane stall. we have about an hour to spend while waiting for our singaporean friends to finish their jewel show in istana budaya.
since the wait was long. it was daniels turn. somehow my story telling skills got the better of me and i kept the bitching part even more hotter to make daniel’s temperature rise even higher. after testing on 2 guinea pig; this is d’one. it’s d’daniel. mother! not sure how he would spelt it but i think he has mentioned this particular word for over a hundred times. jack was laughing and laughing and i could not hold it any longer. i said sorry and told daniel the truth. of course i kena mothered from him but its ok. the fun has just started!
while waiting, got sms from friends telling us to stay at home and becareful after the big win and big wuha in the sampat election day. however, we disregarded the messages and met our friends for chinese and vegetarian style mamak . amidst the threatening messages, the police all over, the may13 big scandal thingy, the riot riot; not that i am starting one, where would be the best and safest place to dine and whine in an open area? jalan alor. and yes we whined at jalan alor till the wee hour in the morning. jack daniels parents did not know that they were at the “safest” place on earth on the big sampat day. unless they are reading my blog here. wakakakz.
we whined about a lot of things. it was a night of friendship beyond frontiers. cultural exchange. ideas for life. what the heck, they are only singaporean. where got so kua cheong until beyond frontiers and cultural pulak.
and most importantly, i forgot to send birthday wishes to derrick my dear ol’cousin who is singaporean!!!...
